چکیده
The current paper presents the development and characterization of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-Zn2GeO4 (ZGO) fine fiber mats. ZGO nanorods (NRs) were synthesized using a hydrothermal method incorporated in PVDF solution to produce mats prepared by varying concentration NRs (1.25–10 wt %) Forcespinning® method. developed showed long, continuous, homogeneous fibers, with average diameters from 0.7 1 µm, depending on concentration. X-ray diffraction spectra depicted positive correlation among strengthening beta phase within fibers. composite system containing 1.25 % displayed highest piezoelectric response 172 V. This has promising potential applications for energy harvesting powering wearable portable electronics.

Physical-chemical properties of cross-linked chitosan electrospun fiber mats
Chitosan fiber mats were successfully processed by electrospinning. The as-spun fiber mats were neutralized with ethanol and cross-linked with glutaraldehyde. A decrease of the fiber average diameter from 243 ± 43 nm down to 215.53 nm was observed for the neutralized and cross-linking chitosan membrane. It was found that the processing conditions do not alter the initial deacetylation degree of...
متن کاملCompressibility of electrospun fiber mats
Compressive properties of electrospun fiber mats are reported for the first time. Mats of bisphenol-A polysulfone (PSU) and of poly(trimethyl hexamethylene terephthalamide) (PA 6(3)T) were electrospun and annealed at a range of temperatures spanning the glass transition temperature of each polymer. The data for applied stress versus mat solidity were found to be well-described by a power law of...

Energy harvesting is a promising technology that powers the electronic devices via scavenging the ambient energy. Piezoelectric energy harvesters have attracted considerable interest for their high conversion efficiency and easy fabrication in minimized sensors and transducers. To improve the output capability of energy harvesters, properties of piezoelectric materials is an influential factor,...
متن کاملNano-Scale Characterization of a Piezoelectric Polymer (Polyvinylidene Difluoride, PVDF)
The polymer polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) has unique piezoelectric properties favorable for Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and Nano-Electro-Mechanical Systems (NEMS) applications. In the present research, we conducted nanometer-length scale characterization of this material using several high-resolution techniques. Specifically, we used an atomic force microscope (AFM) to study the ...
متن کاملStructural, mechanical, and tribological properties of electrospun poly(hexamethylene adipamide) fiber mats
The mechanical and tribological properties of electrospun fiber mats are of paramount importance to their utility in a large number of applications. In this work, mats of electrospun fibers of poly(hexamethylene adipamide) (PA 6,6) with average fiber diameter of 238 ± 22 nm are characterized for their crystal structure as well as their mechanical and tribological properties. Post-spin thermal a...
